This year's journey of Kedarnath-Badrinath.....a journey of salvation or hell......

It's so much fun when we decide to have a trip to a place which gives you a peace of mind and also a relief from everyday life. Sometimes it becomes someone's dream to visit a certain place once in his lifespan, especially sacred places. They take leave from work, pack their bags and with full enthusiasm get on towards their destination. But who knew that such a journey can also become someone's last journey.

Most of us are aware about what happened at Uttarakhand in last few days. Such a tragic turn it took....Since last 15 days of vacation I was in Dehradun, my native place where we met some conditions due to which we didn't had much fun there....but during our last days we met such conditions that I haven't seen in my life yet. It rained continuously for four days, breaking a record of 88 years. So you can easily imagine what kind of situation it would be- landslides, falling of trees but also an invitation to water-borne diseases but what about those who took so much risk to travel through the dangerous valleys of Badrinath-Kedarnath just to find salvation.

It was a sudden shock for those who were already there at Kedarnath, Rudraprayag and Gaurikund and near Gauchar, Uttarkashi where a continuous flow of traffic was going upwards and was not an easy to put a stop over it. At the night of 15th June, a sudden flow of water through Himalayas washed of everything which came in its way. People, just to save their life got into the Kedarnath temple premises but who knew that even this sacred place was not safe from this natural disaster and which took away several lives.

From the very next day, disastrous news about these floods and landslides. Here I would like to appreciate the efforts made by the media, whether it is for increasing TV ratings....but then also that reporters are taking an initiative to know the condition of people there, connecting them with their loved ones keep their lives in risk. But now getting on to the topic...I was totally shocked that even such things can happen, people grieving for their lost ones, starving for food and water with all their belongings shattered off.

Then even the other state governments stepped forward for helping the tourists by sending helicopters, providing food, announcing donations for them....even our president Mr. Pranab Mukherjee gave his salary. And this sequence is still in motion; CRPF personnel’s donated their one day salary. You'll find all these things as a sign that they have a sense of care for them but what was actually happening during this tragic incident.

There took place a shameful event, while the time the premises of Kedarnath were cleared.....the people who belonged to nearby village just looted the donations from the temple. Not only this....money & jewelry from dead bodies were taken away by the villagers as well....revealed by some of the victims. Also its the time when all things should be made available to the victims at a low price but the thing went in opposite side, things are sold at much higher costs which made them more helpless.

To be continued.............

Is Mt. Everest just meant for making records....Is anyone really worried about it????

Today we all aware about young mountain climbers like Raghav Juneja...who are creating wonders and what I think is that when a 15 years old boy can climb it...so there will be a time when there will be no limit of age for people to go on Mt. Everest. But I'm not here to tell you about record makers or breakers just want to make you aware about the other side of it.

Year 1953, when Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary created wonder by challenging the tough terrains of Everest. Till that time no one was in a position to face it, but today it's made easy through trainings. As it is obvious that climbing this enormous mountain is not at all a simple job, so several equipments are needed along with food and other accessories. So throughout the way they're continuously using those things but do they take care that whether that trash is dumped properly or not or the atmospheric conditions are suitable or not??? Not at all.

Recently an interview was done with a Mt. Everest climber who told the condition of garbage which is increasing day by day but no one is bothered about it. It was told that objects like oxygen cylinders, food wrappers, poly bags are left behind by climbers near their camps and along their way, also the level of CO2 is increasing there due to increase in the climbers in last 10 years. Last year there was a day when 230 climbers were on their way at the same time. Now just think that if such type of chaos will be created, so what will happen....will natural beauty remain the same??

It's good that people are trying to challenge and getting against the toughest conditions of nature but when it comes on preserving that same so reactions are different. The thing is not only to achieve that but also to have a sense of respect for it because one day that nature can spoil human civilization. Till now many have tried to climb this beautiful but risky peak....some succeeded, some not and some lost their life. Now it is proved that human has customized itself to face such condition, so is it still required to take risk and face the tough situations of Mt. Everest....the enormous, what do you think???

Are Modern trades taking over General trades????

In today's fast moving world....modernity has made everything easily accessible. One simple example is of malls and super markets which can easily be seen around us. But what about the local markets then??? Will it also affect the middle class???

If we talk about a middle class family....it has to take care of its budget a lot, thinks about saving money at times because we know that even a single penny counts......but then their budget allows them to buy things from a local market. Now the condition is that everywhere these malls and super markets are making their place. Many times it attracts people but when it comes on prices so some of people try to make a distance from it.

Few days back I was in Ajmer and went to a local market with some of my relatives. It was fun having look at other people moving from shop to shop, chatting with each other, selecting things of their choice and bargaining over it...so I found them comfortable with that atmosphere. At the same time we planned to have a visit to a mall nearby.....malls are always fantastic, loaded with modern features, new showrooms, restaurant and blah, blah...

The condition is applicable not only in Ajmer but each and every city which is developing at a fast rate and being a part if cosmopolitan culture. Here the difference which I saw was the sort of crowd we had, the difference of the class of people there and also the difference in the cost of the goods. As malls are day by day increasing...local markets are losing their profits and importance. So just think about it that what will happen to the middle-class or lower class??? Will it be able to survive then???

In cities like Gurgaon, Noida people are ought to buy goods from super markets only because they don't have any other option. So here again comes a role of government, the great. Even in malls the things are sold on much higher costs than the local ones and the reason is the implementation of taxes over goods by government. And also Foreign Direct Investment is coming into action which will even create more exposure for super markets like Wal Mart and many more.

It's very much understood that each and every person can't afford such type of luxury. But then markets should not be neglected as it's a source of income and livelihood for thousands of people, providing people their daily needs, fashion accessories. Remember that these markets were the one who first made things easily accessible to us. So what I think is that malls are making it easier for people to shop for goods of their needs but a limit should be made for goods so that markets don't face lose in their trades and so there will be an equal flow of shoppers in both the sides and will be in favor of all types of classes, breaking the distinctions between all...

Hey...!!! Can we think over it ones....

Before I started over with my work of blog writing, it was important for me to have knowledge about what are the major things which are affecting people a lot and I had interest in it from last 5-6 years. So many topics I found regarding social violence, protests and all but the major one of them, which I feel is still prevailing all around the world is that how youngsters have changed their requirements and attitude towards others.

If we look back in 20th century, from which even our parents & grandparents belong, you'll find that they had very less requirements and lived happily in whatever condition they had. They were not a part of any social media, didn't had habit of watching television and mobile services were not present even. Even if today our parents are on social sites, just because of official requirements or if they want to be social.

But what all needs youths have on Facebook, whatsapp is just to chat with friends whether we know them or not, share pictures and etc. Also sites like YouTube are used to spread abusive, sexual content. So these are the things which affect our life socially.

But let's have a look on the other side of requirements youth has developed. On news channels, many of us may have noticed how nowadays crime level is increasing and In that we can find some youngsters as well who are just involved in it to fulfill their needs for money. Sometimes they steal money from house, force someone or may harm their parents if they didn't satisfy their needs. And all these evil deeds to fulfill their addictions of liquor, drugs and even for gambling. So it also puts a question mark over the guidance and teachings they're getting from their parents.

It's also proved that we get attracted more towards negative aspect than positive ones. So most of the times what happens that parents only don't want to have a look over what their child is doing and be in their own world of work but have they ever thought that just their one step like this can spoil their child's life. Such situation occurs with parents living in metro cities nowadays that they don't have time for their them and this is because of the modernity they have accepted. That's you may find students from small cities have more interest towards studies and activities whereas in metro cities or urban ones no one is there to stop these children from getting behind negative things.

Here I just intended to reflect the requirements which today's youngster has developed. If you look at olden times....you may find that people that time were far more hard-working, not addicted to bad activities and lived in a peaceful manner. But today whole situation is different. According to me we should have a habit of living in normal way because as your demands will be fulfilled, you will then ask for more and more, which can even lead to addiction of it so parents should not be forced for it because it's over to you that whether you use things in an appropriate way or not........ So are you getting on a right way??
